The BSP Barrel Nipple is a precision-machined pipe fitting designed to provide a short, inline male-to-male threaded connection between two female BSP threaded fittings, valves, or pipe ends within a BSP threaded piping system. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel, this barrel nipple delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, reliable threaded engagement, and long-lasting structural integrity, making it a dependable connecting fitting across a wide range of industrial, marine, chemical, and general process piping applications.
As clearly visible in the product image, the barrel nipple presents a cylindrical body with male BSP threads machined at both ends, with a smooth, unthreaded barrel section visible at the centre of the body between the two threaded ends. This central unthreaded barrel section is a defining characteristic of the barrel nipple, distinguishing it from a close nipple where threads run continuously along the full length of the fitting. The clearly defined, coarse thread profile visible at both ends reflects the precision of manufacture and ensures reliable engagement with corresponding female threaded fittings on both connection interfaces.
The BSP Barrel Nipple is available across three length variants: Plain, 100mm, and 150mm, providing flexibility to accommodate different installation spacing requirements between connected fittings. However, not all sizes are available across all three length options, as indicated in the product table. The plain variant is available across the full range of nominal bore sizes from NB6 (1/8 inch) through to NB100 (4 inch), while the 100mm and 150mm length options are available for selected sizes only, specifically NB15 (1/2 inch), NB20 (3/4 inch), NB25 (1 inch), and NB40 (1 1/2 inch) depending on the length variant.
316-grade stainless steel provides superior resistance to corrosion, pitting, and chemical attack, making this barrel nipple an excellent specification choice for demanding marine, coastal, chemical, and offshore piping environments.
