The BSP Lock Nut is a precision-machined fastening component designed to securely lock and retain BSP threaded fittings, valves, instruments, or other threaded components in position within a piping system or panel installation. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel, this lock nut delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, reliable threaded engagement, and long-lasting durability, making it a dependable securing component across a wide range of industrial, marine, chemical, and general process piping applications.

As clearly visible in the product image, the lock nut presents a low-profile, wide-diameter hexagonal body with a large internally threaded central bore. The flat, thin hexagonal profile is characteristic of a lock nut design, distinguishing it from a standard full-height hex nut by its reduced axial height relative to its diameter. This slim profile allows the lock nut to be threaded onto a BSP fitting or threaded stem and tightened firmly against an adjacent surface, panel face, or mating fitting to lock the component securely in position and prevent unwanted rotation or loosening during service. The six flat sides of the hexagonal outer profile provide clearly defined engagement surfaces for tightening and loosening using a standard spanner or wrench, ensuring controlled and consistent installation torque can be applied. The bright, smooth surface finish visible across the fitting is consistent with the high-quality material properties of 316-grade stainless steel.

BSP lock nuts are commonly used in conjunction with tank connectors, bulkhead fittings, instrumentation connections, and panel-mounted fittings where a threaded component passes through a panel or wall and requires secure mechanical retention on the reverse face.

The BSP Lock Nut is available across a comprehensive range of twelve nominal bore sizes from NB6 (1/8 inch) through to NB100 (4 inch), ensuring compatibility with the full range of standard BSP pipe sizes commonly used across industrial, process, and general plumbing and pipework installations.

316-grade stainless steel provides superior resistance to corrosion, pitting, and chemical attack for reliable long-term performance in demanding environments.
