The BSP Reducing Bush is a precision-engineered pipe fitting designed to connect two BSP threaded pipe sections or fittings of differing diameters within a single inline fitting, enabling a smooth and secure reduction in pipe size within a threaded piping system. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel, this reducing bush delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, reliable threaded engagement, and long-lasting durability, making it a versatile and dependable solution across a wide range of industrial, marine, chemical, and general process piping applications.
As clearly visible in the product image, the reducing bush presents a compact, hexagonal-profiled body with a larger male BSP thread on its outer circumference and a smaller female BSP thread within its internal bore. The external male thread engages with the larger pipe or fitting on one side of the reduction, while the internal female thread receives the smaller pipe or fitting on the other side, creating a concentric inline reduction within a single compact fitting. The hexagonal outer profile provides flat engagement surfaces for tightening with a spanner or wrench during installation, ensuring secure and leak-free thread engagement on both connection interfaces.
The BSP Reducing Bush is available across an exceptionally comprehensive range of size combinations, spanning reductions from 1/4" to 1/8" at the smaller end of the range through to 4" to 3" at the larger end, covering a broad spectrum of standard BSP pipe size reduction combinations commonly required across industrial, process, and general plumbing installations. This extensive size range ensures the reducing bush can be accurately specified for virtually any inline pipe size reduction requirement within a BSP threaded system.
316-grade stainless steel provides superior resistance to corrosion, pitting, and chemical attack, making this reducing bush an excellent specification choice for demanding environments including marine, coastal, chemical processing, and offshore applications where long-term material integrity and reliable threaded performance are essential requirements.
