The BSP Reducing Socket is a precision-machined pipe fitting designed to provide a straight inline connection between two male BSP threaded pipe ends or fittings of differing diameters, enabling a smooth and secure reduction in pipe size within a single compact fitting. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel, this reducing socket delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, reliable threaded engagement, and long-lasting structural integrity, making it a dependable pipe size transition fitting across a wide range of industrial, marine, chemical, and general process piping applications.

As clearly visible in the product image, two reducing socket fittings of different sizes are displayed together, clearly illustrating the characteristic stepped or concentric form of the fitting across the available size range. Each reducing socket presents a cylindrical body where one end features a larger diameter female BSP threaded bore and the opposite end features a smaller diameter female BSP threaded bore. This stepped internal configuration, where the two female thread sizes differ between the two ends of the fitting, allows a larger male BSP threaded pipe or fitting to be engaged at one end while a smaller male BSP threaded pipe or fitting is connected at the opposite end, creating a concentric inline pipe size reduction within a single fitting body. The smooth exterior surface and precise internal thread profiles visible across both fittings in the image are consistent with the high-quality manufacturing properties of 316-grade stainless steel.

The reducing socket provides a more streamlined and compact size reduction solution compared to using a full-size socket combined with a separate reducing bush, making it a practical and space-efficient choice for inline pipe size reductions within a threaded piping system.

The BSP Reducing Socket is available in four size combinations: 1" to 1/2", 1" to 3/4", 2" to 1", and 2" to 1-1/4", covering the most commonly specified inline pipe size reduction requirements across industrial, process, and general plumbing installations.

316-grade stainless steel provides superior resistance to corrosion, pitting, and chemical attack for reliable long-term performance in demanding environments.
