The Internal Joiner Split Type is a stainless steel internal tube joiner designed to connect two handrail tube sections end-to-end by insertion into the bores of both tube ends simultaneously, creating a concealed, straight-line joint with no visible external hardware on the assembled handrail exterior. As clearly shown in the image, the fitting presents a short, solid cylindrical body with a smooth, consistent circular profile along its full length and most distinctively, a clearly visible longitudinal split line running along the top face of the fitting from one end to the other, dividing the cylindrical body into two halves along its entire length. This split is the defining structural and functional feature of this joiner type, and it is clearly and unambiguously visible in the image as a straight, narrow gap running the full length of the fitting.
The longitudinal split allows the cylindrical body to be slightly compressed in diameter during insertion into the tube bore, reducing the effective diameter of the fitting just enough to ease entry into the tube without binding or requiring excessive force. Once the fitting is positioned within the tube bore and the grub screws or fixing mechanism are engaged, the natural spring-back of the split body exerts a consistent outward radial force against the tube bore wall, creating positive engagement even where the tube bore diameter varies slightly due to manufacturing tolerances, end preparation variations, or minor distortion. This self-adapting engagement characteristic makes the split-type joiner more forgiving and easier to install than a solid-body joiner in real-world site conditions.
Supplied in Satin Finish and available in Grade 316 stainless steel at 38mm and 50mm tube outside diameters, the split-type internal joiner is well-suited to handrail repair, retrofit, and on-site assembly applications where installation flexibility and reliable bore engagement under varying site conditions are important practical requirements. Grade 316 ensures superior corrosion resistance for both indoor and outdoor handrail installations.
