Round Converters

The Round Converter is a stainless steel handrail fitting designed to adapt or convert the connection between a round handrail tube and a base plate, end cap, or other fitting of a different configuration within the same handrail system. As clearly shown in the image, the fitting presents a distinctive two-part profile: a broad, flat circular disc base at the bottom with a knurled or serrated outer edge circumference clearly visible around the full perimeter of the disc and a tapered, conical upper body that rises from the centre of the disc and narrows progressively upward to a small cylindrical boss at the top, into which the handrail tube end is inserted. The smooth satin-finished faces of the disc and tapered body contrast with the textured outer edge of the disc, and the overall form is clean, symmetrical, and precisely machined.

Available exclusively in Grade 316 stainless steel, the round converter is offered in two surface finishes across two tube sizes. The Satin finish is available in 38.1mm and 50.8mm, covering both of the most commonly specified round handrail tube diameters. The Mirror finish, a high-polish, highly reflective surface, is available in 50.8mm only, providing a premium finish option for installations specified with mirror-polished handrail tube and fittings where surface consistency throughout the system is a design priority.

The knurled or serrated outer edge of the disc base visible in the image provides a positive grip surface for hand-tightening or tool engagement during installation and adjustment, ensuring that the converter can be securely fixed and positioned without slipping. The tapered conical body provides a smooth, visually elegant transition between the broad disc face and the slender tube connection at the top, creating a refined, purpose-designed aesthetic at the handrail connection point. Grade 316 stainless steel provides superior resistance to chloride corrosion, making this fitting well-suited to outdoor, coastal, marine, and pool surround handrail installations where long-term appearance and corrosion resistance are equally essential.
