The BSM CIP Seal is a precision sealing component designed for use within BSM CIP union assemblies in hygienic and industrial piping systems. Available as standard in two material options, EPDM and Teflon, with Nitrile and Viton available on request, this seal provides a reliable, hygienic, and leak-free connection at the union joint, making it an essential consumable component in food processing, pharmaceutical, dairy, beverage, and other process industry piping applications.
As clearly shown in the product image, the seal presents a distinctive open-ring or C-shaped profile, which is characteristic of CIP union seal design. Unlike a standard closed O-ring, the open profile of the CIP seal allows it to seat accurately within the union assembly while accommodating the specific mating geometry of the CIP liner and male part. This profiled form ensures consistent and effective sealing across the union joint faces when the assembly is tightened, while also supporting thorough cleaning and sterilisation during CIP procedures. The dark appearance of the seal shown in the image is consistent with EPDM material properties.
The standard availability of EPDM and Teflon material options allows the seal to be selected based on the chemical compatibility and temperature requirements of the specific application. EPDM provides excellent resistance to water, steam, and a broad range of cleaning agents commonly used in food and beverage processing environments. Teflon offers exceptional chemical inertness and is the preferred choice for more chemically aggressive process environments. Nitrile and Viton options are additionally available on request for applications with specific compatibility requirements.
Both standard material options are available across a matching range of seven sizes: 25mm, 38mm, 51mm, 63mm, 76mm, 101mm, and 152mm, ensuring precise compatibility with the full range of BSM CIP union assemblies and standard pipe diameters used across hygienic and industrial piping installations.
