The Jacket End Disc is a stainless steel annular flat plate fitting, as clearly shown in the image, where the fitting presents a thin, flat ring with a large central aperture and a narrow, uniform flat face around the outer circumference. This distinctive ring geometry, with two defined diameters, an outer diameter and a smaller inner aperture, is the defining characteristic of the jacket end disc and reflects its specific function in jacketed tube and pipe assemblies.
In a jacketed tube system, an outer tube or jacket surrounds an inner process tube to form an annular space through which a heating or cooling medium circulates. The jacket end disc is welded across the annular gap between the inner process tube and the outer jacket tube at each end of the jacketed section, closing and sealing the annular space to contain the heating or cooling medium within the jacket circuit. Each size in the range is therefore expressed as two dimensions: the outer jacket tube outside diameter and the inner process tube outside diameter. For example, 38.1 × 25.4mm denotes a jacket end disc fitting a 38.1mm outer jacket tube with a 25.4mm inner process tube bore.
Supplied in Mill Finish and available exclusively in Grade 316 stainless steel, the range covers twelve annular size combinations from 38.1 × 25.4mm through to 152.4 × 101.6mm, addressing the most commonly specified outer and inner tube diameter pairings used in jacketed tube circuit construction. The mill finish is the standard industrial surface condition for a fitting that is welded into a fabricated tube assembly during manufacture.
Grade 316 stainless steel with its molybdenum content provides superior resistance to chloride corrosion and chemical attack, making jacket end discs well-suited to food processing, pharmaceutical, dairy, chemical, and marine jacketed tube applications where long-term pressure integrity and corrosion resistance of the jacket circuit are essential engineering requirements.
