The V-band is a stainless steel V-band clamp assembly used to create a strong, secure, and rapidly demountable connection between two flanged tube or pipe ends. As clearly shown in the image, the fitting presents the complete V-band assembly, a segmented stainless steel band formed into a circular clamp profile, with the characteristic V-shaped internal groove running around the full inner circumference of the band, and a single T-bolt and nut fastener mechanism visible on one side that opens and closes the clamp. The V-groove profile of the band engages over the matching V-flange profiles of two mating tube ends, drawing them together axially as the T-bolt is tightened to create a sealed, mechanically locked joint.
Supplied in Satin Finish and available in Grade 304 stainless steel, the range covers seven sizes: 44mm, 50.8mm, 63.5mm, 76.2mm, 101.6mm, 114.3mm, and 127mm, addressing the tube and pipe outside diameters most commonly used in exhaust systems, turbocharger connections, industrial tube assemblies, and process equipment where rapid-release clamping is required.
The single T-bolt fastener enables the entire clamp to be tightened or released with a single tool in seconds, making the V-band system significantly faster to assemble and disassemble than conventional bolted flange connections, a key advantage in applications requiring frequent maintenance access, system reconfiguration, or rapid component replacement. When the T-bolt is tightened, the V-groove of the band draws the two mating V-flanges together with even, radial clamping force distributed uniformly around the full circumference of the joint, creating a secure, vibration-resistant connection that maintains joint integrity under the dynamic loads and thermal cycling typical of exhaust and high-performance tube system applications.
