The BSP Swing Check Valve is a stainless steel non-return valve with British Standard Pipe threaded end connections, designed to prevent reverse flow in piping systems by using a hinged disc or swing clapper that opens automatically under forward flow pressure and closes under back pressure and gravity when forward flow ceases or reverses. As clearly shown in the image, the valve presents a compact, rounded body with BSP female threaded connections on both the inlet and outlet ends visible to the left and right, a flat cap or bonnet visible at the top of the valve body through which the internal hinge mechanism is accessed for maintenance, and a small external bolt or plug fitting visible on the upper body with material grade markings clearly stamped on the valve body confirming the Grade 316 specification.

Available exclusively in Grade 316 stainless steel, the range covers six nominal bore sizes 15NB (1/2"), 20NB (3/4"), 25NB (1"), 32NB (1.1/4"), 40NB (1.1/2"), and 50NB (2") with the check function confirmed as available across five of the six sizes, noting that 32NB (1.1/4") is currently not available. The size range from 15NB through to 50NB covers the BSP pipe sizes most commonly encountered in general process, water, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and marine fluid handling systems where passive backflow prevention is required.

The swing check valve is entirely self-actuating, requiring no external power, control signal, or manual operation, opening freely under forward flow pressure and closing automatically when flow stops or reverses. This passive, autonomous operation provides continuous backflow protection throughout the service life of the valve without any maintenance intervention. The hinged clapper mechanism provides a low-resistance flow path in the forward direction, minimising pressure drop through the valve. Grade 316 stainless steel with molybdenum provides superior resistance to chloride corrosion for marine, chemical, food-grade, and coastal service environments across all available sizes.
