The Bar – Round is a solid stainless steel round bar produced by cold drawing and polishing, supplied in 4-metre lengths across an exceptionally comprehensive range of diameters. Available in both Grade 304 and Grade 316 stainless steel, this product covers diameters from a fine 3.2mm through to 152.4mm in Grade 304 and up to 127mm in Grade 316, making it one of the most dimensionally versatile round bar offerings available in the stainless steel market.

The cold drawn and polished manufacturing process is central to the quality and performance of this product. Cold drawing pulls the bar through a precision die at room temperature, refining the grain structure of the steel, improving tensile strength and hardness beyond the base hot-rolled material, and producing a bar with tight dimensional tolerances and a smooth, consistent outer surface. The subsequent polishing step further refines the surface finish, resulting in a bright, clean cylindrical surface that is ready for use in precision machining, engineering, and fabrication applications without additional surface preparation.

Both Grade 304 and Grade 316 are available across the vast majority of the diameter range, with near-identical size availability across both grades, reflecting the equal importance of both materials across the applications this product serves. Grade 304 provides excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and machinability for general industrial, architectural, and engineering applications. Grade 316, enhanced with molybdenum, delivers superior resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion, making it the preferred specification for marine, coastal, food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical applications where aggressive environments demand greater material performance.

The size range includes both metric and imperial-equivalent diameters, such as 6.35mm, 12.7mm, 25.4mm, 38.1mm, 50.8mm, and 101.6mm, reflecting the product’s suitability for both modern metric engineering and legacy imperial-dimension machinery, tooling, and component replacement work. Smaller diameters marked with an asterisk represent fine precision bar stock well-suited to turned components, shafts, pins, and instrument parts, while larger diameters from 50mm and above are suited to heavy engineering, structural applications, and large-diameter machined components.

Supplied in consistent 4-metre lengths, the cold drawn and polished round bar is easy to cut, turn, mill, and finish in workshop and manufacturing environments, delivering reliable dimensional accuracy and surface quality throughout the full diameter range.
