The Pipe Eccentric Reducer is a stainless steel butt-weld pipe fitting used to transition between two different pipe bore sizes while maintaining one flat side between the larger and smaller bore ends. As clearly shown in the image, the fitting tapers from a larger diameter at one end to a smaller diameter at the other, with the offset bore geometry creating a distinctly flat side along one edge, the defining characteristic that distinguishes the eccentric reducer from its concentric counterpart.
Supplied in Mill Finish and available in Grade 316 stainless steel across both SCH10 and SCH40 wall thickness schedules, the range covers nominal bore sizes from 25NB (1") through to 100NB (4"), with outside diameters from 33.41mm up to 114.3mm. Reduction combinations range from modest transitions such as 25 × 15 and 32 × 20 to larger reductions, including 100 × 50 and 100 × 80, covering the most commonly required bore transitions within the available size range.
The flat-side geometry of the eccentric reducer is essential in horizontal process piping, where drainage and venting performance must be maintained across the bore-size transition. Installed with the flat side up, the fitting allows gases and vapour pockets to travel freely toward vent points, preventing airlock formation. Installed with the flat side down, it keeps the pipe bore filled below the centreline at pump suctions, protecting against vapour ingress and cavitation. Both SCH10 and SCH40 schedules are available across key sizes, enabling specifiers to match wall thickness to the pressure and structural requirements of the system.
