The 3 Hole Round Base is a stainless steel handrail post base fitting featuring a circular base plate with a raised central cylindrical boss that receives the handrail post tube, and three fixing holes arranged symmetrically around the plate perimeter. As clearly shown in the image photographed from a three-quarter elevated angle that reveals both the top face and the side profile of the fitting, the raised cylindrical boss rises vertically from the centre of the circular plate, with the open tube-receiving bore visible at the top of the boss. Three evenly spaced fixing holes are distributed around the outer circumference of the circular flange face at equal angular intervals, and the smooth, bright surface of the fitting is clearly visible, presenting a consistent finish across both the raised boss and the flat circular flange.
Supplied in Satin Finish and available in two tube outside diameter sizes, 38.1mm and 50.8mm, the 3-hole round base is designed to suit the two most widely specified round handrail tube diameters in commercial, public, and architectural handrail and balustrade installations. The central boss accepts the corresponding tube outside diameter, with the post typically welded into the boss before installation to form a permanent, structurally integral post-and-base assembly.
The three-point fixing arrangement with holes positioned at equal 120-degree intervals around the plate is the defining structural advantage of this base plate configuration. The triangular bolt pattern distributes the overturning moment generated by lateral handrail loading across three anchor points rather than one or two, providing superior resistance to post rotation, tipping, and pull-out compared to 1-hole and 2-hole base plate alternatives. The triangular fixing pattern also provides mechanical redundancy; the base remains structurally engaged across the remaining two anchor points if any single fixing is compromised, improving the long-term safety performance of the installation under real-world service conditions. The circular plate profile and consistent satin finish present a refined, professional appearance at the post base that complements round tube handrail systems in any commercial or architectural setting.
