The BSP Hex Nipple is a precision-machined pipe fitting designed to provide a short male-to-male threaded inline connection between two female BSP threaded fittings, valves, or pipe ends within a BSP threaded piping system. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel, this hex nipple delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, reliable threaded engagement, and long-lasting structural integrity, making it a dependable and practical pipe connecting fitting across a wide range of industrial, marine, chemical, and general process piping applications.
As clearly visible in the product image, the hex nipple presents a compact body featuring male BSP threads machined at both ends, with a central hexagonal section clearly visible between the two threaded ends. This central hex section is the defining characteristic that distinguishes the hex nipple from a standard barrel or toe nipple, providing flat engagement surfaces on all six sides that allow the fitting to be securely gripped, tightened, and loosened using a standard spanner or wrench during installation and removal. This tooling engagement capability ensures that consistent and controlled installation torque can be applied to both threaded ends of the fitting simultaneously, facilitating secure and leak-free thread engagement with the corresponding female threaded fittings on either side of the connection.
The central hex section also provides a convenient and positive gripping point for holding the nipple steady while tightening the adjacent fittings, making installation in confined or awkward spaces more straightforward and manageable compared to fittings without an external hex profile.
The BSP Hex Nipple is available across a comprehensive range of twelve nominal bore sizes from NB6 (1/8 inch) through to NB100 (4 inch), ensuring compatibility with the full range of standard BSP pipe sizes commonly used across industrial, process, marine, and general plumbing and pipework installations.
