1 Hole Round Base

The 1 Hole Round Base is a stainless steel handrail post base fitting featuring a flat plate with a large central circular aperture and a single fixing hole positioned to one side of the central bore. As clearly shown in the image, the fitting presents a compact, D-shaped or partially circular flat plate, the large round central aperture occupying the majority of the plate face, with a single countersunk or clearance fixing hole visible at the upper portion of the plate, offset to one side of the bore centreline. The plate profile is notably more compact than a full round or square base plate, with material present primarily on the side where the fixing hole is located, creating the distinctive asymmetric outline visible in the image. The entire plate face presents a smooth, consistent satin finish.

Supplied in Satin Finish and currently available in 50.8mm tube outside diameter, the 1 hole round base is designed to suit the 50.8mm round handrail tube, one of the most widely specified diameters in commercial and architectural handrail and balustrade systems. The central aperture accepts the tube post, which is seated into or welded to the base plate to create a permanent, structurally integral post-and-base assembly before installation.

The single fixing hole configuration makes this base plate the most compact and minimally intrusive of the round base plate range, providing a space-efficient fixing solution for post locations where available substrate area is limited, where a single well-positioned anchor is structurally adequate for the applied loads, or where a deliberately minimal base footprint is preferred for aesthetic reasons. The offset position of the single fixing hole relative to the tube centreline provides a degree of moment resistance against lateral loading of the post, directing the anchor force away from the post axis to resist the overturning tendency of a laterally loaded post. The compact, clean profile and satin finish of the 1-hole round base make it a refined and professional base detail for architectural handrail installations where a discreet, low-profile base connection is the design intent.
