The Tube Y Piece is a stainless steel three-way tube fitting that splits a single tube run into two symmetrically diverging outlet branches, or converges two inlet flows into a single outlet, with each branch orientated at an equal angle to the main axis. As shown in the image, which provides an exceptionally clear full-face view of the fitting, the Y piece presents its characteristic shape in full: a single common inlet at the bottom centre rising into a smooth, symmetrical junction body from which two equal-diameter outlet branches diverge upward and outward at matching angles to the left and right. The smooth, polished satin exterior of the fitting is consistent and bright across all surfaces, with the junction between the two branches forming a clean, flowing internal division that is visible at the open tube ends.
Supplied with a 1.6mm wall in Satin Finish and available exclusively in Grade 316 stainless steel, the range covers tube outside diameter sizes of 19.05mm, 31.75mm, 38.1mm, 50.8mm, 76.2mm, and 101.6mm, spanning the mid-range of tube diameters most commonly used in process, hygienic, and industrial tube systems.
The symmetrical Y geometry is the defining performance advantage of this fitting. Both outlet branches diverge from the common body at equal angles, producing a balanced, even flow division between the two outlets that is inherently more equitable than the asymmetric flow split produced by a standard 90-degree tee. The gradual, angular split of the Y configuration also generates significantly lower turbulence and pressure drop at the junction than a sharp right-angle branch entry, making the Y piece the preferred choice in systems requiring equal or proportional flow distribution, product splitting between two lines, or dual-line feeding from a single supply tube.
The satin finish supports effective CIP cleaning and full drainage, while Grade 316 stainless steel enhanced with molybdenum delivers superior corrosion resistance for food processing, dairy, pharmaceutical, and marine tube system applications.
